I had no previous experience with Canva. I have had an Instagram account and have for several years. Using Canva was interesting and I was able to figure it out quickly. However, using these to platforms to promote myself was interesting. I am not a big promoter of myself so that did take me out of my comfort zone. I was over critical, and had a hard time making decisions.
For my style, I purposefully chose simple, clean lines. I feel like there are posts and sites out there that are too busy, making me want to look away rather than to look-in.
I am always challenged by attempting new things. Canva was new to me therefore I was challenged. I was also challenged by choosing which pictures and format to use to promote my stuff.
I am surprised by the final outcome; I think it looks good. I am also surprised at the amount of time and effort that goes into posting and marketing social media.
I see myself using Instagram as a quick promotional guide. I feel like everyone is on it, I can also change my tone. Maybe use Instagram as a lighter side to things. I think Instagram is an easier platform too. Instagram might feel easier to me because it is a platform I have used longer.
