Dr. Robertson Davenport, director of Transfusion Medicine at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor is looking for blood for his hospital. He mentioned that the hospitals are full of patients who are in need of blood.
If people are looking for a way to help during the pandemic, Gail McGovern, president and chief executive officer, American Red Cross said, donate blood.
Colleen Adams works at Henry Mayo hospital in Santa Clarita, “I understand that people are hesitant to give blood during this time. “
The American Red Cross wants to reassure the public that they will be safe donating blood during this time. Additional precautions have been put into place to protect the health and safety of the staff and the donors.
